  1. I really liked that you put an objective at the top of your lesson plan, that’s very important to help the teacher know what point he or she is supposed to get across to the students. I think it is smart that you have the students’ continuously write down what is going on because it will help them to better understand the concepts being taught. Moreover, it is interesting that you kept the ideas and definitions a mystery to the students until the end of the lesson, I don’t know if I think that would be an effective method or not.

  2. I think it was very organized and teaches the children what they need to know very clearly. I think you should maybe switch up the explaining of magnetism and what is causing it (let them know it’s a circuit in front of them and that’s what causes the attraction).

  3. I like that your lesson plan goes further into learning about magnets. I think that this lesson could be done after the students have learned about electricity and circuits so they are not confused about a lot when doing the experiment. If they are familiar with the circuit, then this experiment will just have them questioning what is happening in the circuit and then will explain that it is a magnetic field.

  4. I think it is wise to have the students play around with the magnets at the beginning of the activity. You could also question the students to find out what they do or do not know about magnets. Based on the students responses, other students may come up with new ways of exploring with the magnets during the first part of the lesson.

  5. I think this is a good idea but it might be too difficult for 3rd graders. I like the exploration in the beginning because it makes the topic fun, however, the conclusion might be more interesting if the children are given a writing activity where they use creative writing skills to create a story where this topic could be used

  6. I like this lesson, but I think it would be more suitable for older kids, especially in the area of having to write down their observations. Third graders may not have the dexterity or vocabulary to describe what they see. Consider tailoring the lesson to have a ditto along with it so they may check off or list certain aspects instead, this way they can more easily interact with complex language.

  7. This is a very good activity and will definitely be challenging for students. Consider having demonstrations along the way to aid them with their discoveries. The demonstration does not have to give everything away, it will just aid them into the process of setting up a circuit with an ammeter, etc.
